If you are about to undergo oral surgery, then our team of doctors, Dr. Pedro Franco, Dr. Howard Price and Dr. Drew Havard want to help you through every step of the process, including your recovery. Here at Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, we take pride in the high-quality service and care we give at our practice. That is why we are happy to give you some tips on helping you have a smooth recovery.
The most important thing to remember after any oral surgery is to follow the directions of your oral surgeon. These directions, or instructions, are given to you to help you through the process. If you are experiencing bleeding or oozing, which can be normal right after a procedure, remember to bite on a gauze pad for roughly 30-45 minutes to stop the bleeding. Remember to avoid all alcohol and tobacco, and even rough and hard to eat foods until you heal.
Some pain after a surgery can be expected along with swelling in the area. An ice pack or even a bag of frozen vegetables can help keep the pain and swelling down by applying it to the outside of your cheek or jaw area. As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns after an oral surgery, please feel free to contact us at [phone], so our professional staff can assist you. We are always happy to help you with a safe and smooth recovery.
